Avonlea Village was a fun stop and it’s where we went after visiting the Cavendish Cemetery. Throughout the day, my partner and I were doing an “Anne of Green Gables Journey.” We started off at the LM Montgomery Birthplace (historic context about the person), moved...More

According to my Wife this is a re-creation of the Avonlea Village set in the Anne of Green Gables Story. It is mainly a bunch of eateries, a few gift shops and a church where Anne got in trouble for talking during service. As with...More

Not knowing much about Anne of Green Gables, it was unfortunate that Cavendish leaned so hard into the tourist attraction around it. We were there for the National Park, and the rest was very tacky.

The village was closed because it was off season, but the gift shop was so quaint! We enjoyed going there twice during our visit. They have beautiful Prince Edward Island authentic jewelry and great prices. The staff were super friendly as well. We enjoyed shopping...More

August 2017 Actual Visit Great quaint shops that offer so much arts. They have umbrellas because these are indoor/outdoor shops! Could be touristy with the prices but there are surprise finds. Nice spot to have Cows again!

The sign out near the road is true: it's the best place to eat in Cavendish! We were pleased to find a baked potato place, Dave's Lobster, Anne of Green Gables Chocolates, a donut shop, COWS ice cream and some little shops. The lobster roll...More

Stumbled on this looking for dinner. Really cute concept. Has a feel of a village with gravel street and concrete sidewalks with white picket fences. Includes a church also. Mostly food places, a gift shop or 2 and a clothing store. Fun just to eat...More

We went hoping to see sights of Avonlea and instead all of the buildings have been converted to art stores or restaurants; most of which were closed for the season when we went in early September. The gift shop was even a let down.

We arrived 1.5 hours prior to the close of the season. We shopped a bit, and I was able to take pictures of the location without a lot of others around. The area is nice, but the shoppes aren't much different than other shops on...More
