This national historic site is very interesting - a tour will tell you all the details of the home, how it was built, who the various owners where and who owns it now. The floor that can be viewed is only the main floor, but...More

Just at the back of the Fairmont le Château de Montebello you find the manoir Papineau. You just travel in time and your guide takes you from one room to another telling you about Mr Papineau 's life and family. We really learned a lot...More

We learned so much. The guide gave a super interesting tour with history of Québec and the ways of the days. Did you know that after dinner, men and women were gathering in another room together to discuss politics, as opposed to the English etiquette...More

Beautiful ancient grand home of Louis-Joseph Papineau. Free guided tours in both French and English. Located on the property of Chateau Montebello.

The visit was interesting, the guide explained the life of Papineau and the story of the manor. It lasted 45 minutes. The surroundings are nice to visit.

A wonderful place to visit even if you just stick to the grounds. There has been a lot of improvements in the grounds as far as walking trails and access in general. A great way to see the house, church and barn. Super spot.

Passing through Montebello and saw the sign for this historic site. We parked up and walked through the woodland to reach the Manoir. We had just missed an English language tour of the house and didn't have the hour to spare to wait for the...More
