My friend and I came to the wdm as a last minute plan..little did we know this weekend was the annual 'Those Were the Days' event. We loved it! The museum was filled with people and the volunteers were dressed up as people from the early 1900s - mid 1900s. The outdoor town site is a definite must see!

The Western Development Museum is really impressive and a great way to spend a few hours while in North Battleford. The grounds are huge with so many buildings to see and make your way through. They have a great collection of farm machinery! I wish there would have been some staff around the grounds to give some insight to some... More

This is a location to do in the summer to go through the outdoor exhibits. The homes on this site were our favourite. Very nice examples of turn of the century homes. This site is well taken care of and we will be back again. The indoor exhibits have a lot of information as well. We would recommend an audio... More

I've always lived the set up at this museum - from the street lined with businesses to the old houses and churches ... it's like stepping back in time.

Nice place, well laid out displays of vehicles, equipment and early farmhouse room displays. Enjoyed reading old time ledgers and papers. Really enjoy the history of the settling of the West and the people and the hardships they faced. This is definitely worth an afternoon visit as there is a lot to see with the outdoor displays as well as... More

A must stop, it can be visited in an hour or two but spend more time if possible, the open air 'town' is well done with stores and other old buildings sort of like time travel to the pioneer era. the highway runs along here though but is still a nice rural situation on the edge of town near the... Love this museum! The outside village is very well kept up and now they have travelling exhibits so when we stop by in the off season we can check out the inside too! It is nice to see them keeping things fresh!
