Quick visit

Excellent wine! The bar is very small but also very nice. Would definitely recommend it for a quick stop if you want to try some awesome wines! The white wine is specially good!

This is our second time visiting this Sol y Barro winery, so that should tell you right off its good. The place is small and alittle dark, but it's part of the experiance. The young man was very informative knew his wine, for sure. I like their wine and their white Malvoisie 2016 is the Bomb, so delious!! I think... More

Few wines to taste and we didn't like them. Very dark tasting room. Owner was present but not interested to explain his wine, the younger guy who poured to us was very helpful.

Three different wines, grenache/cab, barbera/nebbiolo and a very special Malvoisie, everything was hand made by a very particular swiss artist who fell im love with mexico a decided to stay, the paintings, the wine and the buildings (witch are made of clay) where all made by him personally and his wines where at the very least wonderful, elegant and friendly.

Aime is warm, friendly and a wonderful host. We originally went on Memorial day, 2016 and he took his time, showed us all around his winery. He built everything himself with clay. Very creative We were there this past weekend and we had to return for more of his Grenache and the white wine. Both are EXCELLENT His olive oil... More

The wines we tasted at Sol Y Barro were the best we had on our visit to the Guadalupe Valley. The intimacy and beauty of this tiny winery can't be overstated. Aime, the charismatic owner, built all the lovely buildings with his own two hands. He is an artist both visually, and with wine. His artistic nature and skill. the... More

Fascinating visit with the owner, Aimee. The visit is a must as he has a selection of wines that are unique. Very willing to share his knowledge. Originally from Switzerland but has worked as a chef in Mexico City and Orange County CA

Truly a little gem, this place was nestled into the hillside and was hand built by the owner. Had a great tasting here particularly the nebbiolo and the grenache cab suav. I could have spend the whole day in the cellar but, sadly we had other places to visit!

We stopped by on our way to visit Tres Hermanas, which was closed. Aime' saw us working our way up the dirt road, opened his gates and put out the welcome sign. We loved the Cob buildings he has put up, which keep the rooms so cool. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Aime' while sampling his wines (and buying several... More

This is the type of winery we all imagine when we think of "personal service." The owner, a Swiss tourist to Mexico that never left, literally built this place by hand. While it's small .... it's owned and operated by one man, if he's available to lead the tasting, you are in for a cool treat. It also appears to... More
