Mahahual Beach was so beautiful, a hidden gem for sure. The food was delicious, the water is spectacular. A five minute taxi ride away from the port. This is a must see if you love the beach! Lots of shopping too.

It's a market place, so expect peddlers with authentic items for sale. Very safe, close to the ports and something for everyone!

I was expecting a smallish quaint beach resort, unfortunately there was a cruise ship in and consequently all the restaurant staff/massage staff/general sales people were on a mission to badger you as much as possible, seems they were keen for you to buy some dodgy...More

To the best if my knowledge, there's pretty good snorkeling right off the beach , but best check with the locals...they're knowledgable and friendly and like to help
Looking for something to do for the day with my husband & 2 young children ages 4 & 5. Considering a beach day at Maya Chan or Nohoch Kay or a short snorkel trip & time on a beach somewhere. Are any of the short boat snorkel trips safe/fun for the kids? Otherwise what is the best beach to take little ones to if none of us drinks alcohol. We don't want to pay an outrageous amount for an all-inclusive as those above when most of your money's worth comes from the drinks but those are the only places we see that have beach toys accessible for the kids. Any suggestions??? Thanks.
