Amazing service after a mix up on delivery
Oct 2021
I had a girl's weekend in the Lakes recently and wanted to get some local lagers for my friend who had kindly lent us his lodge at mate's rates. After ordered 24 lagers, 10 days later they hadn't arrived, as soon as I chased it up, Gemma from their customer service team was straight on it. She got the delivery out within 24 hours and followed up. The distribution team had then made a mix-up and a further 24 bottles at delivered this morning, so I called again to report the error to which she said as a gesture of goodwill to keep the extra delivery.
Next time I'm in the Lakes I will be booking a tour here and will be ordering for Christmas presents. Really impressed with the quality of the products and the way they handle a mix up, which let's face it every business faces at some point. Fantastic service, I'll be back!

We called here on a raining afternoon. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We sat outside with our dog which was all covered. The beer was lovely.

Fab beers and relaxed atmosphere

We visited the Beerhall on a sunny weekday lunchtime. There was a good selection of Hawkshead beers. It was good to see a few datker beers, which is rare in the local pubs for some reason.

From Riches to rags !

I was disappointed that all of the ales were pale and hoppy, the two dark ales they do, Brodie’s Prime Porter and Dry Stone Stout were either out of stock, or no longer supplied on draught from the company that took over the brewery a couple of years ago.
The food, now supplied by ‘More ?’ Artisan bakers next door, was unfortunately underwhelming, I can only think back to the good old days when the brewery was independent and did a fine selection on ‘Beer tapas’ !

Excellent cafe/bar, near the village centre - and a great range of beers of course :-)
May 2021
Excellent cafe/bar attached to the brewery, with lots of space inside and out (though outside is mostly uncovered - for those occasional wet days in Cumbria...). Great range of Hawkshead beers available on tap, and friendly staff. A fine find at the end of a hot walk along a section of the Dales Way and well away from the road so no traffic noise either. That first draught of a really good ale is hard to beat....

well-organised usually
Jul 2021
Went each day of our 4 day stay whilst in Staveley. Beers were mainly low gravity and "smooth" (as a previous reviewer said = little taste). We did find one with taste on tap + others in bottles.

It can get busy at various times and there is really limited space due to stupid government restrictions which means many people get turned away. Another example of how hospitality is stull under the cosh.

What a find !

Driven past signs for this place for years. Thought I’d finally check it out - what a find ! Small groups sitting outside in the sun. Atmospheric bar with copper stills inside. Bought several beers and enjoyed them. Hawks head lager was especially smooth. Looks like a good pizza place next door - will need to try that in future.

Great beer but..
Jun 2021 • Friends
Great beer but don't be tempted into the burgers from the More bakery. Zero taste, more like shaped mince and the roast beef they put on top of the burgers has mostly fat. I complained and received no apology, so just stick to the beer...

Fantastic beer with friendly and attentive staff. Great arrangement for food with next door artisan bakery. A must of a stop in if in the area.

Make a point of finding this delightful brewery.

Varied selection of excellent beers, friendly staff, and OPEN after the lockdown! Reasonable prices - and great for us as it was within walking distance of where we were staying. Even better at the weekend, when the next door baker delivers really good pizzas to your table. They also do a wide range of bottles/cans to go.
