Our 18th Century Windmill is the only surviving Six Sailed Stone Built Windmill in the Country! We give visitors an insight into the life of a miller back in the day and how the windmill works. The restored windmill is working again and produces flour that can be bought in the shop on site! We look forward to welcoming you to the windmill soon, and we'd like to take the time to thank you for visiting our TripAdvisor Page

Amazing views a must see

Went with a 9 and 4yr old... the guide was happy to answer all their questions. It was really cheap and there are loads of lovely walks over the countryside close by.

The volunteers are just amazing and gave my Grandchildren a quick tour inside as it was a birthday treat. Such a fabulous example of a working mill. Unfortunately the sails weren't going as the wind wasn't up and a snow blizzard was in force, but will be back to visit again soon.

We visited the windmill with our children and grandchildren as Santa was there for the day. Had a great time, nice little gift shop and great views, will return in the summer.

we decided one sunny afternoon ,to visit the nearby windmill. it was a great experience of a bygone era. the people there were dressed up in traditional clothes and were very enthusiastic about their windmill. they were very knowlegable about all aspects of the way a windmill is run. very educational. well worth a visit.

Informative morning at Heage windmill . So much information to take in and access to all levels of the mill. The visit actually let's you imagine what life was like in the days of milling. The staff were well organised and informed and really kind to my special needs son. We live locally and it,s not our first visit, but... More

This mill is positioned on the top of the hill with commanding views. It is modest on height but beautifully proportioned. It is made of stone with six sails making it unique, The machinery and milling furniture is kept in immaculate order and the guided tour was very informative. There arent many other facilities on site other than a small... More

Such a marvellous sight to see a working windmill with it's sails turning on a blowy autumnal day. Even more impressive when you find out that it is the only windmill of its kind with working sails in England. Such an asset supported by the local community - hopefully for many years to come.

Enjoyable , the windmill didn't have its' sails on but has now, after a refurb. The tractor display was large and interesting. Fantastic views over the countryside too. Nice shop. Pricey to do windmill tour/talk though

Heage windmill is a perfect example of a working mill, complete with staff in period costume who really know their stuff. The flour sold in the shop is of great quality and makes good bread, I also use it for making pasta and get great results.
