We arrived on a rainy weekday so were in a nice small group of 8. Bryan the guide was informative and made the tour very interesting, he had masses of experience in the caves and had all the answers to our questions. Don't be put off by the steps, the guides go at a reasonable pace and there are plenty... More

Don't let the steps put you off. The caverns are interesting and deep. Guides for a very good job explaining just how they were formed. Friendly staff at the top and a massive cavern at the bottom. Ignore this place at your peril. Fascinating.😐

Just ensure you are fit enough to walk up and down 250 steps. If you are you will spend about 50 minutes with a tour guide explaining how the cavern was formed and how rare blue john is. It is not a cavern that has stalagmites and stalactites so don't be too disappointed.

Because of the time of year we attended (May bank holiday week) we were lucky not loads of people. We were a small group of 3 for the tour and the tour guide was excellent very informative and a great sense of humour. We found the tour very interesting despite there being about 245 steps down and then the same... More

they tell you its 240 steps down, what they dont say is its just a dimly lit mixture of different size steps and steepness of them, with wet very slippy steep paths in some parts no hand rail. The hand rails in parts are rusty and sharp so do wear gloves.the guide had a very small torch which he kindly glanced over what... Enjoyable day out with the family, lots of steps almost 300 down to the bottom cavern. Sensible footwear is a must!!! The guides knowledge of the area was very good.

I am too much of many things to go caving, fat, old unfit and scared being some. But to go underground in an easy safe guided place. To be educated on the cave by a knowledgeable guide. is a great day out for me. Steps I can do. The ceiling is a little low in places and you need to... More

My seven year old wanted to visit Blue John Cavern after looking and reading about things underground in his school reading book, so we took him along to see it. It wasn't that interesting, the guide was ok and it was way over priced, 2 adults and a child came to £30. An expensive day out to visit something nature... More

Would like to thank Chris our guide for an informative tour. Very engaging and knowledgeable. Lot's of steps on the way down and I think even more on the way up! Very pleasant hour spent in the mine. Lots of things to see and knowledge to gain (every day is a school day). Defiantly not for the differently abled. Defiantly... More

My wife visited the famous Blue John Cavern earlier this week, and as we arrived quite early, we had our own personal tour guide! The lovely Liam answered all our questions as we descended deeper and deeper into the cave system, and each level brought interesting and spectacular areas to look at. To find that the caves were once an... More
