Set off at about 10am. Got back at tea time. Glorious and great for those who are reasonably fit but not marathon runners.

Grab a map from the tourist center and head up. I went via Hollins Cross. It was a glorious day and the view is spectacular. If you want to be careful wear hiking boots.

There's a car park right underneath it, if you put Mam Tor into the Sat nav it should take you there. It does get quite busy with coaches but mid week should be fine. There is a charge for using it.

Depending on whether , has numerous steps up from car park too, really depends on how much they like walking . Don't advise walking up in windy conditions!
