Pleasant walk in an amaizing natural landscape. Stanage is definitely an unmissable milestone of Peak District. Do not hesitate to visit it even if the weather conditions are not ideal, it is even more picturesque.

Stanage Edge is a straightforward walk which can be accessed via a number of off-road parking bays - but beware - these fill up quickly - even on grim days such as this!! However, the walk up to the Edge is gentle and walking along the Edge is a joy. Well worth a morning's perambulation...

Glad I read the reviews here before visiting. It's an other-worldly experience if you visit just before sunset. The climb up to the stones takes 15 minutes and is wee steep towards the end. Utterly rewarding views and the peace you feel.

A good walk with misty views. Starting point: Stanage Edge car park. Easy to follow paths even in the foggy weather. Only a handful of walkers on the route - I'd imagine there would have been more if the weather had been warmer. Waterproofs, gloves and sturdy walking boots made the walk more comfortable.

The Peak district is beautiful and well worth a visit, in Spring Summer Autumn or Winter there are plentiful rambles and walks.

We headed over to Stanage for a run. My first time there for a long time and many more years since I had climbed there. We decided to stick close to the edge and test our rock hopping skills as well as our fear of heights. It was a cloudy cold day but there were people walking, running, cycling and... More

Not our first visit to Stanage a Edge. Superb views over the Peak District, a wonderful walk, the children loved jumping from rock to rock.

Got there so quickly from the centre of Sheffield. Easy parking even on a Saturday. The walk was far enough to be a walk but easy enough to get some great Panoramic views with some stunning craggy outcrops. You can see the history with some stretched carvings in the rock from decades ago. Great place with great views. Plus the... More

The walk up from Hathersage is fairly gentle and easy to follow. Having gone left to High Neb or a little further, retrace your steps along the edge and choose your descent from several tracks down to vary the length of walk and return route to town. Make a shorter circuit by driving up to one of the 3 car... More

Lots of walks here with stunning views, not for the faint hearted, great walks for families but big drops, of course
