We had a very enjoyable afternoon exploring the gardens. Though I felt it still had a way to go before the restoration of the gardens would be complete. We had a very pleasant visit to the cafe, where the staff were very helpful. The food...More

The grounds are gorgeous with flower beds, wooded areas, far reaching views and gardens arranged over various levels. Turn a corner, follow a path and you'll find another wonderful area. Either a glade of vast rhododendrons, an orchard with bee hives, a copse with ornate...More

Standen is a beautiful example of the Arts & Crafts style. The house and gardens are stunning. Work is still going on to make the garden as it was planned to be when the Beal family lived there. It's a great place to bring the...More

So lovely to see the work of the garden revival come to fruition. I hadn't visited the gardens for many years. Even more lovely than I remember well done for all your hard work!

An unusual house left as it was in the early 1900s. Beautiful decor and fantastic gardens with some very unusual shrubs. The unearthed swimming pool looked amazing. Fantastic rhododendrums and tulips when we visited.

We visited on a cold May morning. Our visit started with a coffee in what looked like a barn, but was so well preserved and fitted out including a log burner. The house itself was warm and light, unlike older properties and much of the...More

Have not been to Standen for a while as we have a small dog and it was not possible to take him there. They now allow dogs on leads in the garden so that's great. The Gardens are lovely at anytime of year but even...More

On a sunny/dry day you could spend most of the day there. House is small but beautiful but the grounds are large with walks and ideal for a picnic. Hope that helps 😊

Wonderful place and if you decide to take out NT membership on the day they discount the fee for that day´s entrance.Well worth it...if you are a frequent traveller to the U.K. or obviously if you live there.
