You might have heard of the famous movie where girls go missing in the rocks...well this granite boulder formation of caves and overhangs was the haunt of the famous New England Bushranger Thunderbolt. It is a pity that local New England towns have not put...More

Think of the majesty of Girraween NP’s Pyramid Rock hike, but now imagine it compressed into 30 to 60 minutes of relaxing exploration through natural bushland and boulders. If you’re adventurous, you can take a few squeezes through cracked granite boulders with the kids. Try...More

Had a great time exploring the tracks and caves in this reserve. This place is a great destination in the Stanthorpe region. A little off the beaten track, but so worth it. We took our dogs on our walk and there were many families with...More

What a great spot for a bbq lunch and exploring around the giant granite boulders. It can get over grown in places but the look out is safe and secure for younger kids, easy to climb the boulders for the bigger kids. You need to...More

Good view at the lookout but the path was overgrown, had we not been previously we probably wouldn’t have gone to the end

Worth a visit when in the area. The kids (aged 9 & 12) loved exploring the giant boulders, and climbing all over and around them. Make sure you are wearing appropriate footwear as it will be a bit slippery if there's been any rain. We...More

Short drive off the highway, about 7 kms. Last part is on gravel road, but OK for normal cars. Large bolder formation that you can explore with a great viewing platform on top. Not suitable for disabled, as the last part is via steep stairs....More

Wear appropriate footwear. The rocks are slippery when wet. I recommend taking a picnic lunch, and food for a BBQ

As of Nov 2018, the dirt road condition is excellent. One of the best dirt roads I’ve ever driven on. You definitely can do it with any city car. It’s smoother than a lot of sealed bitumen roads!
