This is a most beautiful family run old tea house. We arrived during a torrential tropical downpour and they had a power cut. This was not a problem. Iced coffees and the most delicious scones, cream and jam outside England were produced as we looked over the lovely lake. We then walked 5ks around the lake to burn off the... More

We always make the visit to Lake Barrine when we visit North Queensland, it's such a lovely place, it's a beautiful place, run well by the Curry family, you must try the 'Devonshire tea' it's an absolute must!

Imagine sitting down in paradise sipping your coffee and having a jam and cream scone. The view is so breathtaking you will never want to leave. Cruise around the lake and learn the history of the crater lake and learn about the wildlife. Nothing could be more relaxing. So, so good !

We had a lovely cruise around Lake Barrine. The guide Steve was very informative, friendly and welcoming and we learned a lot about the local wildlife. It was raining and very peaceful, we saw turtles, a variety of birds and eels. After the cruise we had Devonshire Tea on the balcony, the scones were really nice. Make sure you check... More

We took the 45 minute Lake Barrine Cruise and found it. Just delightful. The boat followed the edge of the lake and the skipper pulled in to show us the flora and fauna of the area. Unfortunately we didn't see the usual Amethyst Python, but we saw two other snakes and lots of fish. We felt it was $18 very... More

To cruise around the lake and look into the surrounds and water for the fauna of the area and to be informed of the lake residents and to see them is an educational treat.

The cruise is relaxing and informative. We were lucky that the owner, Stephen skippered the cruise. Stephen knows the area geography, animals, fish, history and tells the most interesting stories about this unique Lake. Cruise times were 9:30, 11:30 and 2:30 - leave time to have a cuppa or Devonshire Tea at the Tea House. (You buy tickets for the... More

The historic tea house offers simple food which is delucious and the service is great while the views are outstanding. You have a choice of a lake cruise or a 5km walk around the lake through the rain forest. Is a must to visit if you are in the area.
