Both crater lakes Barrine and Eachum are spectacular spots to visit. Fresh water lakes from extinct volcano craters. Has been set up for great family days

We walked around the lake on a lovely sunny day, taking in the scenery and the bird-life. Well worth combining with a pit-stop at the Teahouse on the lake shore near the main car park. Probably allow two hours to walk around - or just book onto a crusie around the lake.

Lake Barrine is the larger of the two volcanic lakes in the area.We completed the 6 k circumnavigation of the lake’s perimeter. Sometimes my wife does expect too much out of life and she was disappointed that she couldn't find a tree kangaroo which apparently inhabit the bush in this area, instead she had to be satisfied with the many... Still a beautiful lake, this volcanic crater is picturesque. The walk around the lake is fun, and if you bring your own canoe you can enjoy the lake even more. The wildlife is also still there and fantastic to see, we saw paddymelons!.

Pretty spot to stop and take some pics. Be good for a boat ride. There is a tea house there and toilets as well.

You can canoe/kayak on this lake and also swim in the shallows. There is a 5km circuit of the lake to walk, and also 2 ancient Kauri trees to view within 100 metres of the tea-house. Great views from the tea-house!

There could be nothing better than sipping tea or coffee at the Lake Barrine Tea House. The lake cruise is a must and you will see a lot of wildlife and there is a full commentary by the cruise pilot. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful !

We hiked the trail a bit & came across some rare birds & small wallaby, but the best part was in the evening the rifle birds of paradise, red shouldered parrot, dove, and eagles, and honey eaters that were very active right in & around the parking lot!

A great day out with family or friends. The picknick area is great, there are toilets and the ( adventure ) walk is fun!
