You go through a small forrest, where we saw a Tree Dragon. In the lake we saw some fish and quite a few turtles. The water had a really beautiful colour and in the late afternoon the setting sun really quite beautiful. If you are...More

We walked the full distance around the lake after parking the bottom carpark near the restuarant. The walk is worthwhile and we saw different bird species, fish and turtles. The walk is around 3km and is rated easy to moderate.

Walking around Lake Barrine, we had to keep reminding outselves that we are still in Australia. Those of you who have traveled to New Zealand would agree that the Lake walk is ver similar to forest walks found there. The lush colours and variety of...More

A pleasant spot if you need a quick rest from driving , the lake is only 50m off the main road and has a lively tea house too. Plenty of free parking

When up in the Tablelands we stop here most of the time. I like my freshly baked scones Outside seating area is stunning, directly overlooking the Lake. You can walk around the Lake area or take a 45 min boat trip.

A beautiful lake with rain forest up to the shore. The hotel looked good and had great views over the lake. Trails are good for Tree Kangaroo but we didn't see one.
