Great ride on the Cockle Train with both the steam engine and diesel in operation over Easter 2018. Volunteers are all very friendly and helpful. Reasonable pricing and regular times of services to allow a look around Goolwa before heading back later in the afternoon.

Nice to ride on these old trains. The staff are friendly and add to the exprience. The train passes along the coastline the is rugged and beutiful. For $30 return it's well worth doing!

Back in time on the Steam Ranger Cockle Train leaving Victor Harbour for Goolwa. Lunch at the Corio Hotel in Goolwa makes a pleasant day. Take your time and enjoy.

A fun outing for the family, kids loved it, gave good commentary and some interactive service. You can go 1 way or return, very flexible options, Goolwa to Victor Harbour is about 35 mins, does run a steam train when not in fire season.

This is a scenic steam train ride that runs between Goolwa and Victor Harbor. The trip takes 30 minutes one-way, including two very short stops. We took the last train in the afternoon from Goolwa, which meant that we had 30 minutes in Victor Harbor...More

My son loves trains especially the cockle train. It’s a lovely special trip. It is very expensive though which is a shame as I think more families would love to go on it but a lot of money for 1 hour on a train. (...More

Just saw all the other answers giving much higher fares. They are probably right. But I remember thinking that it was worth whatever I paid for the experience

If the cruiseship is in Port for the entire day you should be able to make a day trip of the visit. You would need to have a self drive hire car available at the terminal and then drive to either Victor Harbor or Goolwa. To... More
