None of us have ever been on a cockle train before then! It was rather interesting, really! It doesn't have many times running during the day, so I suggest you get well prepared. We were lucky to stay at the Anchorage, where the Victor Harbour Station is literally behind it! It took about 35 minutes each way, and you could... More

Enjoyable way to sneak in a train ride without spending all day on it. We took the train from Victor Harbor out to end and back. We didn't want to spend all day on this activity, so we wanted to get lunch and catch the next train back. This only left about a half an hour to walk and find... More

It is a great family day out, travelling with romantic steam engines. The carriages are quite comfortable, the cost is reasonable value. Run by volunteers.

We took the train from Victor Harbour to Goolwa and really enjoyed the views along the water front. The trains are run by volunteers who are all happy and will answer any questions you might have. The train carriages are beautiful and restored to a high standard. There is nothing better than chugging along on a steam engine and the smell... More

If you want to recall or understand how railways used to be, take a ride on this train from Goolwa to Victor Harbour and return. Good value. On the day we were there, the full day trip from Mt Barker came into town so we were able to take a return trip behind steam.

We took the Cockle Train from Victor Harbour to Goolwa which is a nice run along the coast with some very pretty views. It is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who are ready to answer all your questions.

What a blast from the past and a trip down memory lane of train trips along coastal areas in steam trains. The volunteers who conduct this amazing attraction deserve all the accolades that come their way. Absolutely brilliant is the only way to describe this journey from Goolwa to Victor Harbour. Magnificent scenery and terrific commentary as you travel along... More
