Greeted by a friendly person who kept the store open a bit longer for us. Lovely range of local hand made art/craft/stuff and priced reasonably for what it is (depending on artist, media, etc). Something for everyone. A lovely place to visit :)

The academy acts as a museum showcasing the history of the Adelaide Hills. Lots of interesting facts, artifacts and displays. A lot of research and effort has gone into this and it is really interesting. The other part of the Academy was used as a gallery and while there I saw a lovely exhibition and bought some very nicely crafted... More

A great stop to indulge the creative mind. Wonderful works of art for sale here. I particularly found myself drawn to the jewellery and the sculptures. Nestled next door is the information bureau which is a very handy excuse for some who may need one.

This place is a great local outlet for artists in the area. The rotation of displays and items on sale means that we are frequent visitors. Often very well priced pieces on offer! The recent Christmas markets were a great idea, and am sure they will grow next year.

No matter when you go to the Hahndorf Academy you can always find something of interest. The exhibitions are good, not always to my taste, but art would be boring if it were all the same. Very interesting historical displays and artworks as well as current artworks on display and for sale. A great range of locally made jewellery, cards, clothing etc which is artistic and a great souvenir of your visit without being a kitch souvenir.
