Easy access from the freeway. Small museum. The video was about 20 minutes long and outdated but worth seeing to get the background history of the area. The museum had various items found during excavation. It was interesting to read about the history of the items. Outside there are several points detailing points marked from the fort's perimeter. I was... More

If your a history buff this place is worth checking out. We have done it once and that was plenty. Not a lot to see but if you want to spend an afternoon here there is a great picnic area and the towpath trail connects here for great bicycling and walking activities.

I visited because an ancestor of mine helped build Ft. Laurens. The location was lovely, and the information provided was very interesting, but not overwhelming. They perfect setting for a picnic, and gaining an understanding of a less understood piece of the Revolutionary War.

I loved my visit to Fort Laurens. No, the fort itself no longer exists, but the outline is delineated in the grass and plaques explain the fort and what went on there. As a historian, I love using my imagination and thinking about the people who were there and their state of mind! The museum is small, informational video could... More

Not open on Monday or Tuesday. Plaques on site are worth a look even on a day it's closed. We took our time and read the plaques in order and walked the outline of the fort. It was helpful that they had a dirt outline in the grass to mark out the location. The plaques are well written and presented.

The fort is about a 1/2 mile off of I77 would make for a nice break from driving or Fort Laurens State Memorial would make a nice day trip if combined with other area attractions like Zoar. The museum is small but has plenty of information about the fort. They have some nice artifacts. There is a 15 minute movie.... More

We weren't sure what to expect. I had read about the museum that was there and the outline of the fort. Well, we went on a Tuesday and even I was shocked of the lack of anything there. There is an outline of where the fort stood, which I think was nice, however, it would behoove them to actually put... More

We visited as I am very interested in history and this is the only Revolutionary War Fort in Ohio. The video, a bit out of focus, was interesting and the small museum has some interesting artifacts. The docent could answer all of our questions and was quite informative. However, there is nothing left of the fort. We spent 45 minutes... More

This small park is right off I77. There is now a nice restroom there, and volunteers have delineated the perimeter of the original Fort, so if you read the signs and walk around it, you will know quite a bit, already. There is a remnant of the canal in the park, as well, and a hiking-biking-horse trail. There are two... More

I liked the history, the grounds and the staff who are helpful and friendly. We visit a couple of times a year on bicycle rides through the area.
