Breitenbach is the largest winery in the area even though it sits in a valley on CR139 which parallels SR39 between Dover and Sugarcreek - can't miss the place, its all purple. The tasting room doubles as a gift shop but its the wine which...More

I have visited this winery before and love their wine. I feel like the wine is very reasonably priced. They had music outside. We brought some snacks and had a couple of their pizzas which were very good. I will always stop here when in...More

I've been coming to breitenbach near ohios amish country for years, and have gladly watched them grow and evolve into a thriving spot for locals and tourists alike. The winery boasts a huge assortment of award winning wines from sweet fruit wines, to dry reds,...More

Stopped here on the way home from Amish country for wine tasting. I really enjoyed being able to sample to know what I liked best. The young lady handling the samples was awesome. Gave us a lot of good advice. The plum wine is the...More

I booked the winemakers barn for my daughters bridal shower this past Saturday. Yes the grounds are pretty. Yes the wine and cheese is good. The reason I gave one star and would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM is to host an event. The day of our...More

I'm very sorry that you were upset. I heard two sides of the story that day and you were upsetting not only to the employees but to the customers who overheard your rant. I communicated from the beginning that the barn had limited electricity and...More

All the wines I tasted were a bit too sweet for me, but it's a nice tasting room, with large outdoor terrace with music. For the tastings, it's cash or pay up front and they give you tickets for glasses of wine. You can keep...More

Thank you for your review. We make 40 varieties of wine, many include sweet fruit wine. We do sell quite a bit of sweet wine. However, our dry wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay have won international medals. I hope you...More

Granted, Ohio is not Napa. That said, the Breitenbach Winery is a great place to stop off for a wine tasting. We enjoyed their Green Shoes red wine -- they bring the grapes in from out of state. Nice, dry, very drinkable. Also their Chenin...More

Breitenbach has the best fruit wines in the Amish country area. Beautiful grounds, but be careful of the Alpacas as they will sneeze on you.

Thank you for your review! We actually thought about posting a warning sign about the alpacas. Sometimes they can be nice...but you never know.

An amazing experience for those who enjoy wines of all varieties. 25 cents gets you a taste- grab a palate cleanser, and try another. Once you have found your perfect wine, relax inside or outside on the spacious patio. Will definitely return!
