The big apple basket is still a great photo op, but most of the once thriving homestead is nearly empty. In fact, the stoplight where cars and busses were backed up for miles is being removed for lack of traffic. The company's former office building, the distinctive basket complete with handles, along the highway outside of Newark is up for... More

Took a side trip to Longaberger Basket Factory on our way toward Pennsylvania. We were there on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30. No tour buses or large groups of shoppers so we could wander around admiring everything Longaberger! Of course things are pricy, but the venue is attractive. We had lunch in their cute cafe and it was very good. I... More

I am not a huge Longaberger fan but it was interesting seeing the museum. I created a basket in their Make-A-Basket workshop. I highly recommend doing this. It is extremely hands on and a good way to have a Longaberger basket. I didn't feel as bad paying $50 since I got a great experience out of it and got a... More

I have visited Longaberger ' s Homestead several times over the years. The first time I went it was a booming, beautiful establishment (lush grounds, multiple buildings, a basket lovers dream). Not the case anymore. The grounds are falling into disrepair. Most buildings have closed and I only saw one other shopper while I was there and a handful of... More

I wasn't sure what to expect here. It's very true as others have said that this place is something of a ghost town. You can see that at one time it must have been a real blast to come to. However, we took the tour, which lasted about an hour. Tour times are at 10:30 and they advise you to... More

My wife and I were Longaberger basket cases back in the sales heyday of 1995-2000 and we hadn't been back for over 10 years. We now wish we had not returned and left the memories as they were. We're not sure if we are angry, disappointed, deflated - probably all of the above. We went to Dresden - two people... More

Sad just about says it all. parking lot looks like something from a third world country and grounds poorly kept. Restaurant now closed , The Barn only used when rented out for special occasions . Outlet store has been closed for several years and they put more effort into pushing their pottery line that's made in China than the locally... More

While we would like to spend more time and we are currently working on the landscaping of the ground but we still are open and feature over 100 different locally handmade baskets inside our store. We also just opened our Maker's Market inside the Homestead and feature over 30 local, small Made in America business's products. We also opened a... More

The World's Largest Basket! Used to be the office for Longaberger Baskets. The whole building is in the shape of a picnic basket. 15 minutes away from the factory and Longaberger's Homestead. A must see.

I hadn't visited this place in 10 years. Wish i had not stopped this time. Want to remember it the way it was. What a disappointment. As with many second and third generation family businesses the younger ones taking over are chasing the almighty dollar and profit margins. I have an old longaberger basket, still in great shape, which came... More
