NEIL ISLAND An ideal island for eco-tourism in Andaman Islands, with plenty of marine life. Neil Island is known as the ‘vegetable bowl’ of the Andamans. As a tourist destination, Neil Island is no longer just a backpacker attraction. Over the last few years, many luxury resorts have sprung up, catering to tourists looking for all kinds of a holiday.

Went around all the beaches. Bharatpur beach is nice but water activities are much better in Havelock. Laxmanpur beach can be visited for sunset.

All 3 beaches on this island is a great place to visit. We visited this on beginning of summer. So it was little hotter. But we had a nice family time together.

Reached Neil from Portblair by Coastal Cruises in the morning. The booked cab driver told me that he will take time to reach the jetty and asked me to wait. In the meantime one local person approached me and asked me if I would like to be dropped. He asked Rs 200/- which was reasonable. As we picked up our... More

This is a smaller island in Andaman & Nicobar islands. After Havelok, which is more popular, not many guests come here. My family liked Neil islands better than Havelok island. But I liked , Havelok . There are limited ferry connections between Havelok and Port Blair . You need to plan well in advance for ferry service . Main attraction... More

The thunder of Andaman is stolen by Havelock, but Neil is more beautiful. Its much less commercial, extremely quiet and has pristine beaches. Yes, you wont get many options to eat out, or dive shops at every corner, but Bharatpur (you can go in as far as 500 mts into the sea) & Laxmanpur beaches are breathtaking. Do not skip.
