I'm a Japanese living in Delhi. Visited here on an ordinary Saturday. No festival, no dance. Still the museum looks unique as displayed items are somewhat unique to me. After all the state Assam is unique to me. Many displays entertained me. Thank you very much.

It includes a cultural museum, library and various facilities for preserving, demonstrating and performing cultural items, besides a children's park. On a normal day, the museum is a good place to visit but there has not been noticeable growth over the years. Some sections of the premises have in fact eroded. When some festivals are organised, the place becomes more attractive. A drawback is the traffic one has to brave to reach Kalakshetra.

Location: A bit far from the city, around 35 km. Accessibility: Frequent city buses are available. Roads are good, but huge traffic on weekdays and the buses halt several times for passengers. Journey is very tiring. Attraction: A very well-maintained art complex, with decorated gardens, various sculptures, an open stage, a gallery to sit and gossip, an art village and... More
