If you are heading outside the hustle and bustle of Guwahati and you want some peace then this is the perfect place for you. This lake is located in more of a Village area and is very quiet and peaceful.

Very calm and silent place to come in the morning for a walk or sightseeing. You need to carry water here and some food items as you may feel hungry after walking a bit at this place.

A few hours away from Guwahati, this place has got some stone sculptures. Unfortunately, the place is not well maintained and is deteriorating day by day. Won't recommend visiting.

a rare beauty standing in isolation with innumerable shiva lingas scattered all around the holy and divine land Surya Pahaar. A site of such historical importance shall well be taken care of.

I've noticed a lot of red-breasted parakeets in Surya Pahar. It was great watching them flying around freely. Other than that, just ruins.

The Surya Pahar hills have numerous stone sculptures, which now lay abandoned and are completely in ruins. Though steps have been taken to protect the site, it's not worth visiting this remotely located archaeological site far from the city.

Sri Surya Pahar is one of the best places to visit in the country. It has combination of three religions at one site as per the findings, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. There is an annual mela, which is a big crowd puller. Once you reach there you can go on your own exploring spree, as the place is so full... More
