You have to climb up around 650 steps to reach the top of the temple. There are temples of jain tirthankars and also will come across sculpture and writings on the rock. Excellent place to have a day trip and nice serenity

A flight of about 650+ stairs lead you to the majestic statue of Bahubali, which is a beautiful monolith and given the fact that its almost 1000 years old, inspires a lot of awe and respect. Must visit place for its beauty, serenity and/ or religious stature. Word of caution for the old and toddlers - mind the stairs.

This is a nice one day out place from Bangalore. You have to climb around 600 steps to reach the Bahubali statue. Not a tough climb. It may take 20-40 Mins. to climb depending upon your physical fitness. We took around 1/2 hour to reach. The monolithic statue of Gommateshwara is a treat to your eyes. As we went in... More

We started early by 6:00 am from bangalore. roads are in good condition.make sure to climb early otherwise the entire hillock will probably get heated up and make the ascend difficult.also shoes are not allowed.600 odd steps to climb up.the bahubali statue is a sight to behold.the view of the surrounding areas from the hilltop is beautiful.carrying drinking water is... Shravanabelagola is around 150kms from Bangalore on Bangalore Mangalore highway. Take a left turn from channarayapattanam, and the temple is at a distance of 12km from there. After leaving the footwear at bottom of hill, one has to climb up the stairs. There are around 650 stairs to the hill top, and it takes some effort to reach at the... More

It is worth a hundred times the effort put to climb 100+ stone steps to reach the hill top. What a scene. Bahubali stands tall. View of the city from top of the hill is splendid. Though a Jain worship place, it is a great tourist attraction. It is usually combined with a visit to Belur and Halebid. When we... More

It is a weekend kind of trip, no need to have much plan for the same. You can reach the place from bangalore in 3-4 hours drive. You should take the Tumkur Road and then take the left turn to reach the Bangalore-Mangalore highway. Nice to drive your car, road is very good, only few places some bad patches. You... More
