It is a weekend kind of trip, no need to have much plan for the same. You can reach the place from bangalore in 3-4 hours drive. You should take the Tumkur Road and then take the left turn to reach the Bangalore-Mangalore highway. Nice to drive your car, road is very good, only few places some bad patches. You... More

The most famous pilgrimage spot for Jains is this shrine on top of the hill dedicated to the son of the first Thirthankar, Bahubali. The monolithic statue is carved out of the hill on which it stands. The trek to the top will take an average person close to 40 minutes with stops on the way. The statue is the... More

If you are old or get tiered climbing the hill or steps... if you are travelling with small kid, you better avoid going to this place. Because you have to climb up around 700 stone steps which are hard to climb than you expect just by reading here. However, there is Palanquin bearers (4 people) carry you on a chair... More

A Religious Place for Jain Community but Could Be a Dream Destination for Everyone. A 54 Feet Monolithic Granite Beautiful Statue is the Main USP of this Place. Its on a Small Hill and Gives Larger than Life Feeling.

Short of of Chinnarayapatna on the Bangalore Mangalore highway is this magnificent Monolithic statue of Lord Mahavir. It is on a hill and you have to climb about close to a thousand steeps. If you have an eye for art this is one of the places to visit in karnataka. It is quiet and serene. There are a number of... More

Lord Gomateshwara at Shravanabelagola is an amazing experience, both spiritual and architecture wise! Shravanabelagola, is situated near Channarayapatna of Hassan district - it is approximately about 160 kilometers from Bangalore / 85 kilometers from Mysuru and planned as a one-day trip. It is truly a very humbling experience to stand near the massive monolithic statue of Lord Gomateshwara. From head... More

It's about 700 steps to the top but well worth the effort. The huge statue of Bahubali is awe-inspiring so are the smaller ones around. Try also trekking to the hill opposite this one which has Bahubali's younger brother's temples. It's not as impressive but interesting nevertheless

Prepare to climb close to 600 rock carved steps to the peak, see the temple and surroundings fully built on carved rocks. It is a must to visit place to enjoy the large Bhahubali statue and lots of other Theerthankara statues and super view from the top. Camera is a must, less or no baggage, footwear not allowed - socks... More
