The prabal fort have good view of nature. You can see green tree everywhere. But it's dangerous and scary at the same time.

The base for the trek is near Panvel. Initial hour of the trek is nice and easy which leads to the Prabalmachi village. The village serves as the base for both the Prabal fort as well as Kalavartin Durg treks. Our initial plan was to go for the Kalavartin trek. However, due to the rains, we decided to go for... More

We finished the trek to Prabal today. Started out from Mumbai by car at about 8 and reached Vardoli village at about 9:15. The roads were narrow but in good condition. We parked the car at the base of the hill and climbed up to Prabalmachi. There were two bus loads of trekkers who had arrived. The climb was actually... More

I did trek to Prabalgad and Kalavantinicha durg, with WTA. Please be aware: This is not a family picnic place. Also, this trek is not for those who have never done any trekking. You should go for this trek well prepared.

Absolutely amazing. I have camped on the top several times starting from 1971. Always trekked from Shedung near Panvel, usually in winter. Always camped at the maachi on the first day. Beautiful view of Panvel lights from here. Also a village here called Thakurwadi. Two routes to the top from the maachi. One is steep and sheer, the other is... More

Both Kalavantindurg and Prabalgad are an extension on Prabalmachi and hence the start point was same. The time taken to reach prabal machi is about 1 hour and the trek is easy. If one has not trekked to Prabalgad before then it is recommended to take a guide as the route is tricky and not well marked. Some previous trekkers... More

In October, we did this very strenuous trek but did not find the views from the final point ( a plateau) worthwhile...a wasted day in many senses!
