Highly recommend a visit to this place. Its about 1.5 hours drive from central shillong. It didn't seem connected by any public transport, so one may have to take their own car or taxi, but it's totally worth it. The view is surreal and amazing....More

You can get a local guide there for 500bucks. No need for call before.

Sacred forest is open all through the year. Except, perhaps during peak monsoon due to water logging etc. October is good tourist season here. Happy visiting....

35 Km from Shillong, 135 km from Guwahati. Takes 1 Hr to reach Mawphlang Sacred Forest from Shillong & 4 hrs from Guwahati. Yes August is good time to visit. To explore it will take maximum 1 hrs. if you take a local guide... More
