The monastery is nice to visit, but the museum is very interesting. It shows the lives of Dalai Lama and Rinpoche in Tibet befor, during and after Chinese invasion. So the room of Rinpoche. All very impressive.

High above Kalimpong you can find this small, but amazing monastery. You can find silence and peace.

Excellent monastery with colourful and vibrant idols and peaceful ambience. Do visit this Monastery if you are visiting Kalimpong. Do visit all the floors and see the magnificent himalayas from top floor.

Gaden Tharpa Choling Monastery is about a 30 minute fairly strenuous walk uphill from Damber Chowk in the centre, on a side road just off of K.D. Pradhan Rd, which starts near Damber Chowk. K.D. This is a nice gompa to visit--- really worth the trip. Beautiful murals and statues and artifacts. Each gompa is a little different, and it's interesting to compare.
