We stayed at longyearbyen for a short time before travelling to the tunabreen glacier by boat. To describe the scenery here is hard enough, but it is a special place, it is a moving place, but it is being damaged by global warming, if you can get here even for one day, do so, it will leave you with many memories.

A good introduction to life in this very remote part of the globe. You get a glimpse of how tough life was in the pass without the modern facilities we now enjoy.

This center is located in Nybyen, a short walk from town up the valley. It is also part of the art walk circular tour. You will find mainly photographs which you can purchase. It is next door to Galleri Svalbard which also has a cafe.

This is a really good shop for various items while staying in Longyearbyen. Worth a visit for souvenirs and other items

It is a ceter for all here you will find everything from organic soap to jewelry, photo, textiles, embroidery, knitwear and silk products.Locals can also have their photos or pictures framed. This centre is located very close to the Coal Miners Hotel, This was the first time I heard about recycled candles being handmade from 100% recycled wax. At COOP Svalbardbutikken there was a bin to recycle the wax.

This is the place to look for unusual and usual things.
