The Swiss Garden is a late Regency, nine acre garden, which is adjacent to the Shuttleworth Collection. The garden was created by the third Lord Ongley between 1820 and 1835, and is laid out in the romantic and Swiss picturesque style.

Love walking around the gardens, peaceful and always something to see and admire. After its renovation it is maturing nicely...not a long walk but very relaxing and enjoyable. Then repair to the cafe for tea and cake or of course a hot or cold meal...More

Perfect setting for a gentle walk around the gardens, on your own or as part of an organised tour. Often events are held here which are made more attractive due to the garden setting. Pride and Prejudice theatre production was excellent. We took a picnic...More

We came here for the first time, to attend The Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The gardens were very impressive: clean, tidy and well-kept and our children enjoyed exploring all of the different areas and structures. The staff, who dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters,...More

We visited the Swiss Garden on an NGS (National Garden Scheme) day and were surprised to find it was £8 per person which is quite expensive. The garden, although charming with a lot of plants, is quite small. We meandered round it, enjoying a sit...More

The Swiss Gardens are truly immaculate; peacocks strutting around, thatched cottages and beautifully kept gardens make this an idyllic English summertime experience.
