If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

Weekend with friends

Excellent day out at Southwold village and harbour. Really worth a visit to eat the fish. A number of cafes, fish & chip shops to excellent up market food at Sole Bay.

When you visit Southwold, you must go on the pier as it's an amazing place and there are some beautiful shops along the pier, that sell all different types of items , clothes , ornaments, and trinkets for those special memories. We also ate at the boardwalk , which is located on the pier, the meals are delicious and we'll... More

This one has places to eat, drink, amuse yourself with weird and wonderful arcade games and shops selling all manner of wonderful trinkets. It also boasts an amusing clock featuring weeing men in baths! This is a place to sit and while... More

Definitely worth a walk up the pier if you're in town; some old world shops, stalls and things to look at including the old water clock. Lovely views back to the town along the beach too

There's a couple of nice little shops filled with some nice unusual gifts. We didn't eat in any of the cafes or restaurants on the pier but... More

We parked the car and then walked along the promenade to the pier. This pier didn't seem to have what we thought it did. There was some sea related shops some amusement arcades which you would expect and not much else. Went in all the shops but t never found anything I wanted to buy. So a bit of a... More

A very expensive and poor flat white coffee with not even a small biscuit or chocolate on the side to soften the blow to my wallet Can't recommend.
