Always something different to see in these wonderful gardens. My aunt likes to take the complimentary buggy up the hill as it's too steep for her, then we meander down slowly looking at the view plants and exhibits. Shop is bit expensive but has interesting gifts. November craft shopping event is also well worth a visit.

I usually love visiting the beautiful Hyde Hall, so I took my family to see Santa at Hyde Hall last Friday and I am sorry to say the only saving grace for our visit was the lovely kind Santa. There were no refreshments available at all. We were told very politely as we arrived all the Cafes are shut. The... More

Four of us had a really superb meal for about £50 including tea and cakes. The smoked duck salad was gorgeous and tasty. My husband's sea bass was delicious. My in-laws' more conventional roast pork was good, they said, and the cakes! I had lime and zucchini sponge cake. Wow! This was interesting, well-presented food worthy of an up-town restaurant.... I belong to a U3A Strollers Group and once a month, during Spring, Summer and Autumn, we visit Hyde Hall to see the changing colours, flowers and leaves. There are guided tours, in which we have participated, but we prefer to wander round most times on our own. Some of the Garden is high on a hill and the surrounding... More

Being on my doorstep RHS Hyde Hall is as the title says "Forever Changing". At the moment we have the autumnal hues of reds, orange , yellows and browns. Each season offers a wonderful changing display of fauna and colour. Hyde Hall is a great place to chill out and meander around the gardens, the lake, the pond and the... More

This can be both entertaining and informative. The grounds cover a massive area and children love the freedom it provides. The staff are both helpful and offer guidance if needed. The displays are very well done. Have fun!

We visit regularly. There's plenty to see whatever the season with plenty to inspire you for your own garden. We always stop in at the cafe in the barn up the hill for a cream tea - very reasonably priced and high quality.

As a member of RHS, I visit several times a year, for a short trip out from Chelmsford. The cafeteria is good but undergoing refurb at time of last visit. But the Barn restaurant is great, and in the summer the outdoor area is a good place to eat and relax.
