Great beer, home-made pork pies etc - what more do you want ? New landlord (gosh has it been that long already?) has spruced up, but still simply decorated, with genuine 'local' ambience. Only drawback is parking, so be prepared to walk (or cycle).

Only been there once but the locals were very friendly, making way for us the get to the bar. Beer was excellent and the idea of allowing people to eat in with a takeaway is really innovative. I will definitely be going back.

Best beer in town. Extremely friendly and well priced. They actively encourage bringing in food from local take aways even supplying plates cutlery and menus. Fantastic atmosphere with families and children welcome.

The Red Lion is what every local pub should aspire to. The pub is really well done with a great atmosphere, especially if you can get near the log burner. Great selection of drinks and worth a visit just to experience the men's urinals!
