It is quite small but they put a lot of effort into the exhibitions they have. You can find out about local history and sea life. I would definitely recommend it!

This is a small local museum with a few set rooms, and a temporary exhibition space. The best thing is a small planetarium which gives shows at set times and which are very interesting for children. Pre-booking is recommended as there are limited spaces. There...More

Great museum just of the high street, very close to the train station. Nicely displayed exhibits, art gallery has an very interesting southend exhibition on at the moment. Both buildings have interesting architecture. Worth a quarterly visit to seeing changing exhibitions.

Between exhibitions, large spaces wasted. Not much history about Southend. Seemed starved.of cash. Could do with a cafe, not a destination. Would not take children there. Some exhibits too dark to see.
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate feedback and will pass your comments on to our senior managers and curators. Kind regards, Promotion & Events Team
