Very disappointing Indian cooking course
Nov 2019 • Solo
I was really looking forward to learn more Indian cooking, unfortunately it wasn’t the case.
The food cooked was bland and all the dishes tasted basically the same.
Four spices is all you need we were told....
Also I found the cooking facilities not very clean.
Dirty floor, spider weds on the corner of the room.
I have being to quite a few demonstrations in different places and it was the only time I didn’t enjoy it and didn’t learn anything.

A good day of cooking and I learnt a lot
Mar 2017 • Solo
As an experienced cook I wanted to expand my repertoire and tried the Indian Masterclass and Middle Eastern Cooking.
Both were very interesting and well taught by enthusiastic and well qualified teachers. All ingredients provided and washing up,was done on a continuous basis. We paused midday and ate some of our morning recipes in the pleasant adjacent room with wine and coffee provided and proper table napkins.
Afternoon more dishes and these were all packed up.like a take away for us to take home and have a substantial meal to,share with the family.
The dishes were well chosen and adequately explained and or demonstrated.
Only criticisms are that there is not a lot of counter work space each in the very pleasant room, probably an orangery.
The jobs/gas rings are wrongly placed in the centre of the space. This is ok for the repertoire of dishes here but I wouldn't want to do say, a cake decorating course here.
The price was fine for a days activity with pleasant company.
Most people seemed to be on a birthday or Christmas present day out.

Another great day at this up market cookery school. This is cooking for fun, with a real sense of information share and taking away new skills. Want a great day out...try it!

Delightful

Italian cookery with Ursula this week was an absolute delight. This was our first visit but certainly not our last. Ursula's enthusiasm and love of food was infectious. I learnt so much and have already put some of it to use at home. It was a real treat to come away from our hectic day to day lives and immerse ourselves in this bubbly happy atmosphere for the day. The whole team were amazing, from Sharon's managerial and booking process to the wonderful washing up ladies. We can't wait to come back and do more courses! Thank you.

Can highly recommend taking one of the great courses Braxted Park has to offer. The Lebanese Street food course was very enjoyable. I wanted something a bit different, and cook food that I haven't done before. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel so welcome. The staff are so friendly and also the Chef. A beautiful location as well. Whether you are treating your self or want to buy someone a Birthday or Christmas present, you can't go wrong with booking one of these courses. I will definitely go back, and it will be on my Christmas list.

Amazing Malaysian

A brilliant day, good fun and educational. A really hands on class. Norman Musa was a great teacher, relaxed and interesting to talk to, with a genuine interest in other people and a passion for Malaysian flavours. Thanks to all the team at Braxted Park for making it such a pleasure and money well spent.

Useful cooking lessons in a beautiful setting.

I did the 'Essential English' one day cookery course - a Christmas present from my in-laws. I enjoyed the whole day and the company of the others cooks. The chef was a very practical type so it was learning to cook well and confidently some classic dishes eg Beef Wellington with fondant potatoes. I liked the fact he went around the cooking stations and offered advice and feedback on what we were doing. The other staff were excellent and most attentive. Good value, full day with both fun and accomplishment.

Thoroughly enjoyable day!

Enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Very well organised day of cookery demonstrations and practical experience. Great recipes, using good quality ingredients in a well equipped kitchen, meaning some good results and lots of food to take home to enjoy. The day was rounded off sampling some fantastic ‘Authentic Indian Street Food’ cooked by Padmaja Kochera herself. Looking forward to the next time.

Spent a very enjoyable day at the cookery school learning to cook feel good food. Every thing I learned to cook worked !! so well. I was inspired by the enthusiasm and passion of the tutor (Ursula Ferrigno) who not only demonstrated how to cook the food but offered numerous tips, advice and knowledge to support the cooking process. The facilities are excellent and the support by the two assistants was great. All the participants were good company and all enjoyed it. We finished the day eating our own cooked fillet of Sole with sweet and sour onion marmalade and warm Squash and Edamame bean salad. It was delicious even though I had never cooked any thing like it before. I recommend this for anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills and have a enjoyable day out at the same time.

I've just really enjoyed a days cookery class at Braxted Park - a truly beautiful environment and excellent class - we made sumptious food and the course suited beginners to more experienced cooks - inclusive and fun. I thoroughly recommend it and particularly Ursula Ferrigno who took this course with such verve!
