A stunning ten acre garden restored by Australian garden designer Marylyn Abbott over the last twenty years. Combining a classical Lakefield design with a blend of formal and informal planting, English traditions and Australian flair, West Green offers intimacy and spectacle in a country setting. Access to the beautiful Victorian greenhouses is included and a visit to the formally planted vegetable garden is a must! West Green also offers a Tea Room and shop, is entirely accessible for those with limited mobility and each year hosts the West Green House Season of Music and Opera in July,

Please note that West Green House is privately owned and not open to the general public.

I love quiet close to Westgreen and whilst my Mom was visiting we decided to pay it a visit. We spent the morning walking through the beautiful gardens. It's a lovely walk and afterwards you can also enjoy some tea and cake at their restaurant. The gift shop is filled with lots of wonderful goodies to take home! Westgreen often... More

Beautiful gardens. Good "little" walk about for the kids. We have been 5 time this year as local and enjoy the benefits of National Trust membership. They have regular events(most recent was the Apple Festival) and changes of the gardens draw us back over and over. I will always marvel at the Giant Alliums ! Its not big, its not... More

Went on a sunny autumnal day. Beautiful gardens well kept. Pleasant staff. £8 to enter and £4 if you are a national trust member. Light lunches in the tea room range from £5.50 for soup to £8.50 sausage roll lunch. Limited selection but that is understandable. All fresh foods so smaller the range the better overall quality. They serve lovely... More

Worth a visit on a non raining day, loverly gardens and plenty of space for kids to run off their energy. Dogs not allowed. Lots of events coming up for December for adults and children, most under cover in the glasshouses so not dependant on the weather.

But enjoyed the quiet surroundings. A visit earlier in the year would surely have been rewarded with a great colourful display in the gardens. Nevertheless a place to visit.

We used to visit this NT garden quite a lot when we lived in Hampshire. The house is private so only a garden to enjoy. It was nice to come back again after a few years, it's still as delightful as I remember. Just love the dry river bed. I can recommend tea & cake from the restaurant.

I met up with some friends to look around the gardens and was pleasantly surprised by this gorgeous garden tucked away near Hartley Witney. It was simply beautiful and peaceful. The food in the café was tasty but pricey. I will definitely return again

As National Trust members, we visit this delightful little place several times a year. Despite the name, there is no house to visit but the grounds are attractively laid out with walks and include a well-stocked walled garden and a lake. There is a tea shop with seating outside in peaceful surroundings and a small shop with some lovely and... More

We visited the garden at West Green House this afternoon and were quite disappointed. It was overgrown with weeds, some of the plant frames were broken or fallen down, the ornamental water features were choked with blanket weed and the Versailles-style water cascade was only working on one side. Totally not worth the £8 each admission. Most public parks are... More
