disgusting management of the parking and services but excellent world class arboretum
Sep 2021
toilets disgusting
i wonder what visitors from abroad must think of our country
what a bad advertisement
the place is run by despots who are totally inept and only want to extract money from you from the dubious parking regulations which are designed to confuse and extract money from the visitors.
i paid for my parking but entered the wrong reg in the machine my car was on camera on the way in and on the way out. i paid the correct fee.i did not overstay.
i received a ticket for £100 then discounted to £60. and finally after supplying the proof of my innocence a fee of £20.00
they couldnt run a banana republic.

Queenswood country park
Aug 2021 • Family
Visited park twice in quick succession in August. No problem first time. Second time despite feeding machine and entering registration correctly and leaving within allotted time received excess charge notice. It arrived 8 days later and rubbish had been collected. So no ticket as evidence. Appealed with no success. Advice: read ticket carefully and keep for at least 2 weeks. Shall not be visiting again. Herefordshire Wildlife Trust the losers.

Spiteful people
Sep 2021
They entice you in to use the cafe when passing by and then hit you with a £60 parking fine, spiteful nasty organisation. It was not obvious you had to pay to park to use the cafe.

Good dog walk
Sep 2021 • Family
Took our dogs here for a walk around the woods. Great walk around, plenty of signposts to guide you through your walk and different walks depending on your preference fox walk, deer walk etc…. We just ambled around and didn’t follow a
specific route. There is paths to follow and underfoot wasn’t too bad not sure what it would be like if there was heavy rainfall but we were fine. There is a viewing platform with information on regards what you are looking at giving you a great view of the valley. Plenty for kids to do, including a hunt for the gruff all and an adventure playground near the enterance. Shop and cafe available at car park with toilets although didn’t use the cafe or shops, toilets were clean. Nice way to spend a few hours walking, dogs loved it and slept all way home.

Great for children
Aug 2021 • Family
The children had an adventurous time finding the characters out of the gruffalo story. There is a nice play area at the entrance. Regarding previous comments about parking tickets, if you pay via the Ringo app then you can easily update if you are away longer than expected. However it is only £4 for all day parking. Well worth the extra £1 for up to 2 hours.

Expensive tea & cake!
Aug 2021 • Couples
We only stopped for a coffee and cake as we were on our way to snowdonia for a holiday .
We had visited a few years ago and enjoyed a lovely walk there, however this time we didn’t even actually realise there was a ticket machine! This might have been due to the fact that I had been feeling very unwell , but anyway we didn’t see the pay machine till after we’d had coffee (which couldn’t have been more that 45 mins)! We just decided to go on with our journey at that point and didn’t go for a walk!
So after a fab holiday we returned home to a lovely letter with £100 parking fine!!!! Thank you so much - like others in here I don’t think we’re gonna rush back or make it a stop off for a cuppa even!!!! Shame as we love the place!

BEWARE!
Aug 2021
We parked two cars and paid for our parking based on the time we thought we'd spend. We misjudged by 20 minutes and received fines of £200 between us. When I wrote to the trust to ask if they considered this reasonable (bearing in mind that we HAD both paid for parking and it was an honest error) they simply ignored the contact. It seems we aren't the only people to suffer this experience, but we certainly won't return to risk any repeat.

car park nightmare
May 2021
whatever you do don't trust the car park as the cameras don't take account of the time it takes to get a ticket . It's a shame as the Wildlife Trust is there and its not their fault that I won't go there ever again.

Dog review
Aug 2021 • Couples
It was a Sunday so possibly a busier day, the weather was overcast so I imagine it can be busier. There was space to park, and signs to say it is pay and display. We grabbed a drink from the shop for the dogs and went on our way. There was a nice picnic area at the beginning, next to the play area. We start walking, not strictly following one of the guided routes, there’s four to pick from. The paths are very good, stable firm ground. The park was lovely, beautiful surroundings. The problem we had was everyone else there. Unfortunately, around 90% of the dogs we met were not on a lead, even though there are signs asking this. Be careful with small children and reactive dogs. I would advise using one of the longer walks around the edge to avoid the congestion. We used the deer trail and didn’t see many people until getting closer to the visitor centre again. Just something to be aware of as a dog owner.

Nice walk out with the kids and dog
Jul 2021
Nice walk out in the arboretum with the kids. and then the playground after. There is a Gruffalo trail for the little ones, and although you can buy a guide book for this, but you don't need to, you can still follow the trail.
