We arrived at 12-45 just in time to see the main event of the day which the full operation of the Timeball which happens daily just before one o'clock. Well worth seeing this time piece has been beautifully restored and is run by enthusiastic staff....More

A visit to Deal must take in this historical building. A great location on the edge of the beach with a maritime function. The ball at the top of the building rises and falls to assist seamen set the time just as the same devise...More

We went on a heritage open day. A quirky little museum. Looking at the waves breaking on the Goodwin Sands was amazing.

Run by volunteers, who are only too willing to answer your questions. The tower is quite a climb, but well worth it for the views. Not open all the time, but does have info posted outside for opening times etc.

We had a really interesting trip to the tower, the staff were friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable... We would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

This is a fascinating and friendly little museum and we passed an absorbing hour there. Well worth it.
