It's a shame this beach has no sand. You have to travel 10 miles or so north for that. Brilliant on one of those rare sunny days especially near the main square where the pubs are. Best view is looking back from the pier.

We walked the length of the beach from Deal Castle to Sandown fort. We were impressed how clean the promenade was. Additionally there many benches located along its length, all donated by friends and families of lost ones who had spent much time there. A lovely day.

I love walking along the beach and front all year round as it brings out different features and views. If you expecting lots of attractions or a place to build sand castles then this isn't the place for you. However you will get good views, maybe of France on a good day and especially at night when you can see... More

We stopped at the seafront in Deal, and found the cobbled beach lovely. The beach is easy to access from the castle area, and there is a nice promenade and loads of benches looking out to sea. The seafront also gives the flavour of local culture, and the fishing boats make a great photo attraction.

Great sand free beach. Lovely walks along the front in both directions. Plenty of places to get food and drinks. Clean and mostly dog free.

Lovely pebble beach, quite steep in places!! We stayed on beach road and had a lovely relaxing break. The locals seem friendly, and the seafront is unspoiled, yet has lots to of places to eat and drink. Would defiantly recommend.

This is a lovely beach when the weather is nice. You can go for a stroll in the morning or the evening and enjoy the vast views of the English Channel, with occasional glimpses of France. I would definitely recommend going for a walk there

Being a pebbly beach, it's not really a beach for walking on. Thankfully, there's a great footpath and cycle path which goes in for miles and it's virtually all well away from the road (we walked from the golf course to the north of Deal to Walmer Castle - and right past Deal castle). Great for walking, running, and cycling.... More

This is a long, steeply shelving pebble beach which is clean and never crowded. I wish it were sandy as it isn't easy walking across the pebbles.

Unspoilt and good for walking. Plenty of cafes at one end. Lots of interest along the shore. Buy also enough space to not be crowded.
