Probably the best beach in the area, it's suitable for families, dog walkers, couples etc. Calm atmosphere and much less busy than the main Sands and still has toilets and a cafe easily accessible.

Can't understand the websites and reviews that state dogs are not permitted on Westbrook Beach at all between 10am and 6pm or that the ban extends across the beach towards Margate. At present dog walkers not only have the right to exercise their dogs on...More

Great beach - clean and ideal for families - lifeguard present but very safe swimming in the shallows. Dog free during the day and BBQ friendly after 6 pm. ideal at ay time - high or low tide!

Great beach. Fortunate to live close by and visit it most days. Tide does not cover the beach entirely leaving a wide but narrow sandy area at high tide and goes out a long way with a large expanse of clean sand at lie tides....More

Turn left out of the train station, walk across the road and stay on the Coastal path and you are on your way to one of the most amazing Beaches in Thanet. Miles of unspoilt sand leading for miles. Only drawback, one Cafe on the...More

The cafe here is just awful!! It's dirty, the staff are disinterested at best and rude at worst The beach is nice but without facilities you would be better off up the coast at the Main Sands

A sandy gem, this one isn't as busy as Margate and is only a short walk away. Worth the effort. Try the mini golf here as well.

the high street can be a bit daunting but there are lots of very nice areas in margate. tell her to take the plunge she wont regret it and if she is renting she can move around till she finds somewhere that suits her.
