Well, Foyles War did it for us. Hastings old town looked picture perfect, elegant doorways, little fishing boats on the beach. Not on your Nelly! The whole town is run down and a big disappointment, the most professional thing is the funfair on the front,...More

We went there in December last year the atmosphere was lovely there is a London old bus which has been made in to a cafe. The small independent stalls and shops offer a range of things to buy.

Margate's old town is a delight of independent shops, galleries and bistros, really pretty and peaceful, so glad we chanced upon this little delight of Margate. A world away from the rest of Margate.

Somebody wrote about this! I see no evidence of it. It's dead. Nice beach but what a dive. Homeless drunks all around. Not my Dream town.

Lovely idea that Margate will re-generate but I live 3 miles away, pay £2600 council tax a year whilst London buy up local properties and price out locals. A Margate resident will pay half the council tax. Can a local member of TDC or KDC...More

Hello there. We didn't actually look for vegetarian eating places, however we did notice that inside the Old Kent Market they were serving veggie lunches, what they were I'm afraid I can't tell you, also the double decker... More
