Yes, it's great to see the beautiful old town brought back to life and Mullins restaurant and Oldbys bar just a couple of the great places here. While this is all very well I'm equally delighted to still be able to go into the Bull that has escaped all traces of gentrification and all the better for it. Margate is... More

Some unique shops and bars and a nostalgic stroll down memory lane. The second hand shops are great places to mooch around in with some unusual items on sale. Great bars and plenty of places to eat

We enjoy walking down and wandering around the area once a month since the changes, it is a lot cleaner now and a lovely variety of places to look at and have the odd drink or cuppa. Its good to see that some pride has come back to the place.

Spent a lovely day exploring the the vintage/retro shops and galleries that populate the old town. You can pick up some nice objects to decorate your home. There are plenty of small cafes, bar s and restaurants to get a bite to eat, the are has a very "Hipster" vibe. Will be going back again soon

Margate has a beautiful clean sandy beach which is fun for all the family. Lots of places to eat and drink. Plenty of shops and amusements not forgetting dreamland which is now free to enter. The old town in particular is a great place for 50s and 60s retro. The Soul weekend is fantastic too.....check out events on the local... More

Margate Old town is delightful but visiting on a wet, cold January Sunday afternoon is not to be recommended. Lots of boutique shops and shops selling local art. Nicer than the less salubrious parts of Margate that often leave a lot to be desired. Well worth an amble around, but if possible go when its sunny for a less depressing... More

Enjoyed a deliteful wander through the heart of this picturesque town. An emporium of individual traders and eateries. The best of Margate.

A very small attractive area which makes you forget the many less attractive parts of the town! The middle of winter is not the best time to wander around as many places are not open.

The area around the old town and sea front is a little run down with quite a few closed down shops, but it also has a lot going for it. Within a very small walking distance there are shops, an Indoor Market, bars, cafes, museums, galleries and a sandy beach. Lots to see, great for an amble around, something for... More
