It was nice to see the Seals, but the boat we were on can only be described as the dirtiest boat on the river ... and overpriced at £30 each..!! The wooden plank seats were covered in muddy footprints and there was assorted ropes, buckets and other nautical junk stuffed into every corner ...and everywhere is crying out for a drop of paint.... It was obvious that no part of the boat had been cleaned in a very long time.. The trip from Sandwich to Pegwell bay takes an hour through a very dull industrial landscape ... The seals were nice to see but within 10 minutes you have to leave them and make your way back... Captain Colin was a nice bloke and gave a good commentary throughout the trip ... To sum up I would say it was nice to see the Seals but Captain Colin PLEASE do some housework ... your boat is an absolute tip ...…

Although many people are shocked at the price (£25), it is a two hour trip where you are guaranteed to see seals, or you don't pay! We saw loads, we counted over 60 out of the water and many more playing within. You also get a running commentary from the captain giving informative information and history about the area. Definitely recommend, you will get really close so opportunity for great photos (although not close enough to scare the seals). Plenty of bird life around too including large grey herons.…

This is a must do trip if you like wildlife! I took my 7yr old and she absolutely loved the whole experience! For those wondering about boat-sickness, we went during a yellow warning for strong wind and there really is no sign of wind on the river. The trip was perfectly smooth and relaxing! You get much closer to the seals than previous excursions I have taken from Ramsgate to the same location at Pegwell bay. Captain Collin and his female companion are both very informative, kind and a bloody good laugh! The 2 hours flew by! And your dogs are welcome too! …

A wonderful 2 hour trip on the Sandwich River bus down the river to see a colony of seals, together with a variety of birds. The boat takes a maximum of 12 people, so it is recommended to book in advance. Captain Colin provides an interesting commentary en-route and stops the boat by the seals for long enough to take photos. Wooden seats around the edge of the boat provide good views and you are permitted to walk around to get closer to the seals. …
