Went to the pub tonight for the first time since it closed down. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and not too much changed but found it rather cold. Could do with more heat on a very cold night. Toilets seemed the same as they were with no change which would have been nice. In need of modernisation. That said makes up for it with the feeling of a nice traditional pub. …

The Long Hop reopened last week. This was the first chance I've had to visit the Hop (which I've been drinking in since 2001) since and I'm glad I did. The place has had a thorough clean, carpets replaced and is now a Free House. Beer prices have dropped and the atmosphere is back to the early days. Keep it up, I'll be back!…

I love going to watch the Friday night band. The beer is good and the atmosphere on music night is awesome. The pub is nice and clean and I look forward to going again soon.

Always nice to see a neglected & abandoned pub brought back into use but needs a while to get going. Can't fault the friendly bar staff or the welcoming locals but there seems to a lingering smell of neglect in the air. For a cask marque there was little choice on the taps. Opted for pint of Greene King England's Glory which was below par & was soon on our way again after that.…
