We were a bit disappointed. The harbour is pretty average, and has a number of small stores around the water selling various artisan goods. We walked along the seafront and had a pleasant walk.

I do like seasides and harbours but Whitstable Harbour is quite a boring place to me. It is only a small fishing town, unlike Brighton which is more lively. The beach huts do not really attract me at all.

so sorry for the late late reply they vary according to each individual owner of the huts but some are open in the winter for Christmas

Yes it is, I have seen many people visiting with their dog. Although I do not know if you can allow your dog off the lead for a swim.
