The town centre offers a mixture of local, smaller independent owned shops with the oyster 🦪 and ice cream 🍦 beach theme as well as many of the high street well known stores and restaurants such as boots, Sainsbury’s and zizzi etc. - You will find what you need if staying or visiting locally and there is linked paid parking. - The beach is approx a 5 minute walk away so the centre is in a good location and accessible if essentials are needed.

Interesting little town, with not a lot of parking. Busy on a Sunday, many people not social distancing. Lots of small shops. A slight disappointment in the attitude of other visitors.

I came to Whitstable Town Centre in July and overall I was impressed with the amount of nice independent shops and food outlets. There is a good mix of traditional seaside town shops (chip shops and ice cream shops) and more high end businesses. This town is well worth visiting if you are in the Kent area or within a few hours drive.

Bags of character in Whitstable with many photogenic/interesting buildings. Lots of good eateries & cafes too. The main attraction is the beach and its views of the estuary and the coast and across to Southend/Essex. If visiting Whitstable, it's well worth driving just a short way along the coast to Herne Bay.
