This was our first visit to Cannon's Ashby House. The staff were very friendly & knowledgable. Full of stories which bought the house to life.We visited the cafe which was a bit cramped but the food was good and staff friendly. Allow 2 hours at least for a leisurely visit. We shall return in the Summer to appreciate the garden better. As... More

This is a National Trust property which we been to before as members. This time we just roamed the grounds with the dog. The tea room is good if a little pricey in best NT tradition! Good staff here and decent carpark which is free. Dogs not allowed in the formal gardens. Spectacular medieval ruins and chapel opposite the site.

We recently went here at the weekend. It was a nice country home just a shame it was snowing and s little cold. We will be going back again when it's warmer as we didn't get to see the garden and as it was the first day it was open for the season most of the items in the home... More

Brilliant staff here who are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, they tell you all you want to know about the house and family, which makes for such an interesting visit. We had a nice lunch there, afternoon tea and cake, finishing off with a visit to the prior church. Must go back to visit the grounds in better weather.

Visited on a Sunday to show off the Xmas decs at the house to our grandaughter. But they had not been put up so a bit disappointed. Not too worry we will be back to the house & grounds and the coffee shop was as always good value food. Till the next time.

Interesting family history. We found the room guides full of information. Can imagine this place as a family home. Thought the kitchen was brilliant with the original floor tiles. Lovely little cafe - good jacket potatoes for lunch, and cream tea before we left. Don't forget to see the Priory Church on the way back to the car park which... More

I took a friend who was visiting from Derbyshire to see the gardens and decided to visit the house. Well it was fantastic, very little roped off areas and the staff were amazing! We went on a Wednesday but I'm sure it's just as good any day of the week. There is a member of staff in all areas and... More

By N/T standards the garden is uninspiring but as we visited in October it was not at its best. But the house was interesting, following the family through history with its ups and downs. You can even see how the servants lived and visit their rooms in a house that didn't belong to royalty but to a commoner, albeit a... More

We only called in at Canons Ashby to have a little walk so didn't go into the house or gardens this time but I felt I must say how friendly the buggy driver was. I have a heart condition for which the medication affects my joints and as soon as he realised I needed two sticks to walk he offered... More
