I expected a routine National Trust garden experience, but wow, what a revelation Lyveden is. This creative building (the Garden Lodge) and labyrinth (formerly an orchard) were the brainchilds of one of the Gunpowder Plot traitors. It is full of catholic symbols: some overt, some...More

We visited this excellent attraction today; it's quite a journey south from Grantham, but we're really glad that we visited. Fascinating visit, not just the building but the grounds too. You must get the audio guide to get the most out of this, but the string is just amazing.

Take the audio tour and let your imagination do some work, a fascinating insight into how this building and spectacular garden came into being. Loved it!

A lovely place to stroll around, dog friendly including the cafe garden. Footpaths pass through the grounds too, ISO it's a good base for a longer walk in beautiful woodland and countryside
