Never got to experience the castle as it is closed for the summer, more advertisement about closure should be made available! The impressive scaffolding is worth a see though!

Very much enjoyed visiting the castle, not on this visit but a couple of years ago, really interesting Edwardian Interiors and fantastic views from the battlements. Scaffolding over the castle at the moment.

Be aware the castle is closed until at least spring g 2018 but talking g to locals the feeling is that it will be closed for a lot longer. Having said that the scaffold round the castle is sight worth seeing!!

I would love to go back when it is. It looks stunning and the area itself is worth a meander around. You could spend much time... More

Currently closed for 18 months refurbishing and covered with scaffolding. Will be great once completed, etc... but at the moment, just a building site.
