Wilderhope Manor is an NT property but is run by the YHA for private use by those who book to stay there. This building is a Listed one & alterations are controlled strictly so it might seem to be lacking in certain areas but that's not down the owners but down to English Heritage. Firstly, you either have a very... More

Wildrhope Manor is a good place to start your walks from, it is a National Trust property and is open for visiting but on restricted basis as it is also a Youth Hospital. We did look in on a Sunday but unfortunately with guests staying only the ground floor was available. It is a very imposing building and has lovely... More

Had a great one night stay here there were only 2 other people in so was nice and quiet a breakfast similar to the size served 400 years ago - if you owned the place! Very friendly staff and welcoming no wifi was a nice change

Having done one stately home, we popped in to this one on the way back to where we were staying. The NT handbook was a bit sparse with information and I can quite see why. There is virtually nothing to see because the place is used as a youth hostel and as such has only three communal rooms open for... More

Wonderful old manor house. An excellent base for walking in one of my favourite parts of Shropshire.

Lovely place for a winter wedding or other large event. Big rooms with huge windows and fireplaces. You book the whole place including the bedrooms. However, it is a Youth Hostel during the summer so most of the rooms are dormitories sleeping up to eight people - and you need to bring your own towels! It is in the middle... More

Both our children have stayed here and raved about the manor as a Youth Hostel, so we had to see for ourselves. The manor as a building is beautiful, and the countryside around is fantastic. Well worth staying in if you like youth hostelling - even if you spend a bit more and get a family room!

We chose to stay in Wilderhope Manor due to its beautiful location; indeed, the scenery is stunning, but we were bitterly disappointed by the hostel and the poor service we received. So much so, that after one night we decided to cut our holiday short and go home. I was travelling with my partner, and we specifically booked - and... More
