Interesting history of the local boats and people

Small museum with history of the local fishermen and boats. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to get to and car park close by.

Worse than watching paint dry.

I only went in there to get out of the cold while waiting for our coach to take us back to our hotel in Lynton, Devon. I felt sorry for the lady who worked in there and wondered how she stuck it; the place was so boring. Just a load of old boats.

Gem of a place
Aug 2020 • Family
We love it here and visit often. Always a warm welcome and helpful advice. Always something for our 6 year old to do. Love the boats, the history and the sense of humour that comes through. Great for any age or anyone at the start of a Watchet holiday.

brilliant little place
Aug 2020 • Family
This place is brilliant, it’s free, so great value for money. It’s run by volunteers who could not be more welcoming. We went on Saturday and got to learn how to make rope, which we kept. The lady on the front desk was super friendly and the man doing the rope making was really good with the kids and full of knowledge. This is a great place!

Quaint little one room museum attached to a lovely little helpful tourist information. The staff were particularly helpful and an asset to the place.

Brilliant with really lovely staff

We went today with our kids (5&7) and were welcomed as soon as we went in. The lady there engaged my kids straight away and gave them a great pirate story and treasure hunt. They enjoyed looking around the museum and completed the treasure hunt. My youngest particularly enjoyed talking to the lady about fossils and looking at the small collection there. And it’s free!! Brilliant. We will be back again for sure.

Alot of information in a small place
Sep 2019
Right opposite the Steam Train Station and Car park it is big enough to cram in quite alot of information yet small enough to get around without kids getting "bored" well worth looking in I thought well laid out Don't walk past it is really worth the time.

A small but interesting collection.

The visit was spoiled by the over loud electronic noise from a children's toy/game.
There is a good collection of various Flatners. A child had broken a number of items - pity it wasn't the noisy one.
