Perhaps the Plain Jane of our Victorian pumping station - after all sewage is less glamourous than clean water, but the whole visit was rivetting - no pun intended! We had a conducted tour all to ourselves, and although I normally prefer to wander round...More

This was one of my favourite attractions on our recent visit to Burton. The volunteers were all very friendly. We were shown a DVD of the Pumping house in operation, followed by a very detailed tour of the premises by a retired Colonel no less!...More

The volunteers are wonderful they chat away to and answer your questions, you get so close to everything and are able to be guided around or just go on your own. Bath house, steam room etc all awesome!

Very helpful and willing volunteers showed me round and even started up the big engine for me, with the last of the day's steam. Great for dads with little kids who love seeing huge bits of metal whirling around.
