Good first time. Few attractions closed due to the avain bird flu which isn’t there fault but didn’t know about this at time of booking.

A really lovely day at Birdworld with friends. We found it to be very interesting with plenty of information on each type of bird. Although the inside viewing areas were shut (due to the current diseases going around) we still had a great time and felt there was plenty to look at and see. Some of the food areas were shut but we did go in winter so it is fair enough! Plenty of parking and toilet facilities available around the site. A fun day out for people of all ages and have recommended to our friends and family.

Not been here for many years, and it doesn't seem like it has changed a great deal. Quite a few of the big hitters in the bird world, and what I think is a new Owl area, it's definitely a nice place to while away a few hours.
There are a few "events" during the day like talks and feeds, but I got the feeling it was more that a keeper would be in the area during this time to answer direct questions, rather than a specific demonstration. I would have liked a flying demo, etc. Although I did have a long talk with one of the girls about owls and she knew her stuff, and was engaging.
I'm not sure if it was due to avian flu that everything seemed a little pared back and quiet, and why the prices were cut down. At the full price i'm not sure it's good value, but if the higher price would include more in depth demos and possibly handling some of the animals once there is less risk it would be worth coming back.

Bird world had many birds on shown from diverse cultures and climate. Currently the walk through section was shut because of the aviate influenza spread on birds. In the spring and summer this is a must see part.
Visiting bird world includes free parking and had many benches and parks scattered around the park. One cafe/ restaurant (at the entrance) was opened on the day that we visited.

A reasonably pleasant visit . For children there is a play area for 5-11 year old, strange isn't it though that they charge for 3 and 4 year old- explain that apart from simple profiteering!
food facilities were rather expensive and quite limited but at least we're comfortable.
Some of displays were limited because of bird flu, but did give impression of being cared for.
Park quite well laid out but a map would have been useful, as a had out or on a poster.
It seemed an enjoyable experience for the children, there was a wild variety of birds.

WOW!!!!
We came to Birdworld to the Santa experience today (23/12/22) and wow!! Best Santa experience we’ve ever been to. Our son is five years old and we’ve tried many places, farms, zoo’s and even Legoland to visit Santa, but birdworld truly made it feel magical, relaxed and really laid back also. The elves was amazing, they interacted with everyone but made us all feel comfortable and into the whole experience of the day. Santa was wonderful, even I felt very much like I was a child again and it WAS Santa, amazing!! The staff was all just so lovely, kind and welcoming. We got photographs and the staff even used our phones to take pictures of us and Santa too. Even at the end before leaving the cafe Santa part, your offered a chance to have a photograph taken, or prints out and is just given to you, free of charge, never in my life has anywhere ever done that and I’ve often paid so much for Santa experiences, this was more than worth every penny we paid and we was genuinely all so very happy with the experience. We was even allowed to go around bird world to enjoy the birds and parks etc before we went home whenever we felt ready to leave, it felt like we was never pushed out of there or rushed out of there.
Best Santa experience we’ve ever been to and would definitely look into returning next year.
Hugely recommended.

We had been meaning to visit here for years and never quite managed it. Wish we had come years ago. Very welcoming atmosphere. Facilities spotlessly clean. A lovely experience. Very educational as a lot of info was given regarding the birds. We ate in the restaurant - staff very pleasant and helpful. Please visit and support.

A fantastic day out with my family, including 4 adults and three children. What a fantastic day it was. There were various talks from the keepers during the day explaining about certain birds. It was a lovely day and although busy during the school holidays it wasn’t such that you couldn’t see things when you wanted. A thoroughly enjoyable day and will return and we live locally.

"I didn't even know this place existed!", was the reaction of one of my family. "I am in Heaven", was that from my youngest Granddaughter. I was a reluctant visitor to Bird World when it was suggested we go but after only 30 minutes, I was a convert! What a wonderful experience and wherever you live - it is worth going.
Birdworld, in case you had trouble guessing, is packed with birds! However, to my surprise, many of them are not caged and it can come as a bit of a shock to find a stork free flying over your head or a turkey pecking your shoes!
The birds in Birdworld are also supplemented by a small Farm which is a great addition.
Overall, a brilliant experience which easily fills a whole day.

Convenient to Haskins Restaurant with a gate to Birdworld .Lots of birds but children seem to enjoy stroking the rabbits and goats best .

What is wheelchair access like
BirdworldSurrey
Farnham, UK
Hi there, Although Birdworld is a large site, it is all flat with good paths throughout most of the site. There are disabled facility loos throughout the park plus plenty of disabled facility parking close to the entrance. There are also lots of places to stop and rest. We do have a number of wheelchairs on site which are available to use at no charge. It is best to phone ahead and book these and we do ask for a returnable deposit.
We hope that you enjoy your visit

Do you need a day there or could you visit the park in 3 hours

You could do it in 3 hours if you have to. Having a toddler we never manage to leave the house until afternoon. I have been there twice and each time for about 4 hours. There are three areas, an aquarium, birds and the farm. the park is covered in the first couple of hours, rest of the time kids spend in the play area or running around the farm.

During the penguin experience are you able to touch the penguins please
BirdworldSurrey
Farnham, UK
Hi there, After the actual feeding, you will always get the opportunity to get 'up close and personal' with our penguins. We do always try to include the opportunity to carefully stroke the penguins but this is dependent upon the animals on the day and therefore can not be guaranteed.
Thanks for your question and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Is there a cafe

Yes there is a restaurant at the main entrance plus kiosks around the park. In addition you can access the restaurant at our adjoining Garden Centre, Forest Lodge. Please visit our website to view seasonal opening of all of these outlets.

Have you considered building a bird hide / feeders so that visitors can enjoy the more common british birds also? We are members and come regularly.
BirdworldSurrey
Farnham, UK
We do encourage wild birds here at Birdworld and do have lots of feeders around the park but particularly in the wildlife garden. Building a hide is not something that we are currently considering but would certainly not rule it out. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi,
Thanks Mark A for answering my previous question.
I can see on google maps that there's a Forest Garden Centre, Can one buy entrance ticket from there and go inside or does it have to be from the main entrance only?
The reason I asked this because, I will have a senior citizen with me and it be shorter to walk to Animal farm as that's the main reason we are doing this visit.
Thanks.

Farnham, UK
Yes you can buy tickets at the 'Link Entrance' which is accessible from Forest Lodge Garden Centre. Be aware however that this entrance is subject to seasonal opening so it maybe worth checking by phone prior to your visit to avoid any disappointment.
